Active in 100+ countries, we influence sustainability policy and drive local action for low emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular development. Our Members and team of experts work together through peer exchange, partnerships and capacity building to create systemic change for urban sustainability.
The European Environment Agency (EEA) - in close collaboration with the European Environmental Information and Observation Network (EIONET) and its member countries, the EEA gathers data and produces assessments on a wide range of topics related to the environment. The marketplace stand will showcase material from our latest publications, including the European Climate Risk Assessment and Urban Adaptation report, as well as relevant platforms we continuously update, including Climate-ADAPT.
The Regions4Climate project aims to collaboratively develop and demonstrate a socially-just transition to climate resilience. Based on cross-sectoral roadmaps developed together with regional stakeholders, the project will create and implement innovations combining sociocultural, technological, digital, business, governance, and environmental solutions to reduce the vulnerability of European regions to the impacts of climate change.
REGILIENCE is committed to supporting the European Green Deal and the EU Mission Adaptation to Climate Change by fostering the adoption of regional climate resilience development pathways. The project develops, compiles, shares and promotes tools and scientific knowledge to support European regions in identifying and addressing their climate-related risks. We work closely with sister projects, such as ARSINOE, IMPETUS and TransformAr to enhance the capacity of 7 focus regions to tackle the unavoidable impacts of climate change.
Digital predictive systems have improved our ability to anticipate the effects of disruptive climate events on cities. However, complex urban environments and data gaps still leave many areas exposed. These challenges are intensified by climate change, population growth, and vulnerable building stocks. Minority Report will develop and apply a co-creation framework to deliver a people-centric technology platform. This platform will support a sustainable, circular value chain for construction and renovation, strengthening climate mitigation and disaster resilience. The framework will be tested across three demo sites in the EU and Indo-Pacific, representing distinct climatic zones.
The Stakeholder Engagement Facility (SEF) is an initiative funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) and implemented by a consortium led by Evenflow, in partnership with Serco and EARSC. SEF is designed to boost the uptake of ESA-funded Earth Observation (EO) applications by working closely with targeted stakeholder groups. By taking a user-centric approach—“going to the user”—SEF seeks to understand local needs and support the practical adoption of EO solutions. Through promotion, training, technical assistance, and policy analysis, SEF helps potential users explore where EO can add value and overcome barriers to adoption

Pathways2Resilience supports regions and communities in developing transformative solutions to foster their climate adaptation. It will allocate €21M in sub-grants via two open calls to support at least 100 European regions and communities to co-design locally-led pathways towards a climate-resilient future while providing them with support services and capacity-building activities. The Regional Resilience Journey, the adaptation framework developed by Pathways2Resilience, will guide regions and communities through different steps to accelerate their path toward climate resilience.
The EU Covenant of Mayors for climate and energy is an initiative supported by the European Commission bringing together thousands of local governments that want to secure a better future for their citizens. By joining, they voluntarily commit to implementing EU climate and energy objectives, working on climate mitigation, adaptation and energy poverty.
At the EURESFO marketplace, we will showcase the work, opportunities and resources for local authorities on climate adaptation, as well as promote our new campaign on heat decarbonisation in cities.
CARDIMED is aiming at creating a robust digital framework for assessing Nature-based Solutions' impact on climate resilience, alongside intuitive stakeholder engagement tools. This initiative aims to promote widespread adoption, validity, and financial sustainability through regional alliances and community-driven strategies.
LOCALISED presents the first version of the Climate Action Strategiser and gives the possibility to test it. The Climate Action Strategiser is a science-based tool focusing on how to better integrate mitigation and adaptation measures, and how to ensure a collaborative environment in local administrations of small and medium size. The tool is based on downscaled national decarbonisation trajectories, consistent with Europe’s net-zero target and can help in the establishment of Sustainable Energy and Climate Actions Plans (SECAPs) and the monitoring of related Sustainable Development Goals.
Adaptation AGORA is a Research Action funded by the Horizon Europe programme, that support the overall objectives of the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change. It does so by leveraging and step forwarding best practices, innovative approaches, policy instruments and governance mechanisms to meaningfully and effectively engage communities and regions in climate actions, accelerating and upscaling adaptation process for building a climate resilient Europe. Adaptation AGORA will be featured in a stand focusing on citizen engagement and inclusion for climate adaptation, jointly organised with projects UrbanReLeaf and ACCTING.
RethinkAction project unites thirteen partners from nine countries, merging diverse expertise to craft a versatile decision-making platform which aims to provide concise, valuable information on climate change, enhancing awareness and appeal for land use-based mitigation and adaptation solutions. Focused on land use as a vital element in sustaining life and achieving climate-related objectives, the platform elucidates how individual lifestyle and societal behaviour changes can impact land use.
UP2030 aims to support cities in driving the socio-technical transitions required to meet their climate neutrality targets by leveraging urban planning and design. Within the project city stakeholders and local authorities will be supported and guided to put neutrality on the map of their communities in day-to-day actions and strategic decisions. An innovative methodology (5UP-approach) will be developed and applied through the co-development and implementation of science-based - yet practical - tools, and methods.
MULTICLIMACT is a Horizon Europe project dedicated to enhancing the resilience of Europe's built environment against increasing natural and climatic hazards. By developing a toolkit comprising 18 reliable, easy-to-implement, and cost-efficient design methods, materials, and digital solutions, the project aims to mitigate risks associated with floods, earthquakes, and heatwaves. These solutions are tested across four diverse pilot sites in Italy, Spain, Latvia, and the Netherlands, each representing different geographical locations, hazards, and socio-economic systems. MULTICLIMACT's integrated approach aligns with international and European initiatives on climate-resilient urban planning, placing the built environment and human resilience at the forefront of adaptation measures.
Alternative water resources (AWR) can be a vital part of addressing water scarcity. However, some barriers exist to widespread uptake of AWR. These include: lack of awareness of AWR methods and benefits; gaps in data and tools to bring AWR into integrated management; low cost efficiency compared to conventional water resources; seasonal shifts in water demand and supply; perception of AWR; and governance. RECREATE works in four Case Studies across Europe, located in 3 of the most water-stressed biogeographical regions of Europe: North Holland (NL); Kalundborg (DK); Syros South Aegean (GR); and Costa Brava (ES). There, RECREATE will demonstrate AWR strategies like rainwater harvesting, seawater and brackish water desalination, water reclamation, and aquifer storage.
VALORADA is a 3-year project funded by the European Commission under the HORIZON EUROPE programme. It aims to empower European regions and cities to drive societal transformation toward sustainable, climate-resilient development. Aligned with the EU’s Adaptation Mission, VALORADA will help transform 150 European regions by 2030 to:
- Support regions and communities in becoming climate resilient.
