Digitalization for Climate Action: Co-Creation, Collaboration, and Just Transitions
27 June 16:15 - 17:30
Location: Sala Joaquín Rodrigo

In an era defined by unprecedented climate challenges, cities and regions are at the forefront of resilience efforts, striving to build sustainable communities resilient to environmental, social, and economic shocks. At the heart of this endeavour lie innovative tools and strategies that enable decision-makers to navigate complex challenges and drive meaningful change.
This session at EURESFO 2024 will explore the transformative potential of digitalization in fostering multilevel governance, cooperation, and just transitions. It will examine how technology can serve as a pivotal tool for reimagining, rather than merely optimising, our approaches to sustainability and reaching regional and global targets such as those put forward by the New Green Deal and Sustainable Development Goals.
The invited panel of experts and city leaders will discuss the role of co-creation processes in capturing diverse participants' collective intelligence to address complex environmental challenges. RethinkAction project's co-created digital platform, which exemplifies the conversion of multistakeholder participation insights into actionable digital solutions, will serve as an example in the discussion.
The session invites policymakers, technologists, and environmental advocates to delve into the synergy between digital innovation, environmental stewardship, and human needs, paving the way for a future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand.
This session is part of the Multilevel governance, cooperation and just transition: resilience leaves no one behind stream.
